FAQ OPERATIONS
- WHAT ARE THE CENTER’S HOURS?
- The Jeanne Tannenbaum Center for Creative Practice is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are closed on Sundays and university holidays. Saturday hours vary based on events and programming.
- IS THE TANNENBAUM CENTER OPEN TO THE PUBLIC OR ONLY TO UNCG STUDENTS AND FACULTY?
- The Jeanne Tannenbaum Center for Creative Practice serves both the UNCG community and the broader public. Some events, classes, and programs are designed specifically for UNCG students, faculty, and staff, while others are open to community members. Please visit our calendar for the most up-to-date information on upcoming events and eligibility.
- IS PARKING AVAILABLE? IS IT FREE?
- Yes, parking is free for visitors. We have a limited number of parking spaces available, so we encourage carpooling whenever possible. After parking, please take a photo of your license plate and use the parking kiosk located inside the building to register your vehicle. Registering your license plate helps ensure you do not receive a parking ticket.
- IS THE BUILDING ACCESIBLE?
- Yes. The Tannenbaum Center is fully wheelchair accessible and includes accessible entrances, elevators, restrooms, and automatic door access.
- IS THERE A CAFÉ, LOUNGE OR PLACE TO WORK?
- The Tannenbaum Center offers several comfortable lounge areas and workspaces for students and community members. Our main hub is a large, open gathering space filled with natural light, making it an ideal place to study, collaborate, or work independently.
- While there is no café inside the building, we are located at the corner of Tate and Gate and are within a 3–5 minute walk of several cafés, restaurants, and other dining options. During the academic semester, Borough Coffee operates inside the Weatherspoon Art Museum Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Oden Brewing Company is also located next door and frequently hosts food trucks in addition to its beverage offerings.

FAQ EVENTS
- DO I NEED TO REGISTER FOR AN EVENT, OR CAN I JUST SHOW UP?
- We highly encourage registration whenever possible. If an event requires an RSVP, a registration or ticket link will be available on the event page.
- Please note that some events are invitation-only, and others may have limited seating. We recommend reserving your spot early whenever registration is available.
- ARE EVENTS FREE?
- Yes. All Tannenbaum Center events are free to attend. However, many events have limited capacity, so we encourage you to RSVP in advance to secure your spot.
- WHAT TYPES OF PROGRAMS DOES THE CENTER RUN?
- The Center’s programming is organized around three core initiatives: Tannenbaum Made, PROTOTYPE Faculty Fellows, and Creative Community Connector. We also host mission aligned programs curated by University and Community Partners.
- CAN COMMUNITY MEMBERS ATTEND WORKSHOPS?
- Absolutely. We encourage community members to participate in our workshops, events, and programs whenever they are open to the public. Before attending, please check the event listing to confirm whether the workshop is open to the broader community or intended exclusively for UNCG students, faculty, and staff.
